Looks like a Panzer II Ausf C, but it's remarkably bare. The track covers lack the anti-slip pattern and there are no tools whatsover on the hull. The side vision port lacks the vision slit. It also lacks the antenna rail usually present on the left side. Is it a mock-up perhaps?
In the background there is an A12 Matilda II tank, I think.
It's a Valentine in the background. It was lend-lease to Russia but got dropped in the harbour and was relatively recently recovered and given to the CIWM.
And every time I see one of them, I automatically hear the "clink" noise Steel Panthers would make for an ineffective hit on Soviet tank armor. Or French tank armor. Or any tank armor.
Panzerkampfwagen II (Auf F? might be Auf C.)
ReplyDeleteAs for where I do not know.
But panzer 2
Panzer II
ReplyDeletePanzerkampfwagen II Ausf C
ReplyDeleteThe Ausf F would have a dummy visor on the front hull.

DeletePanzer II C, Canadian War Museum.
ReplyDeleteLike Dux says Panzer IIc. I had thought it had been traded away but that was a Panzer I and we got some very nice kit in return.
