Verdigris

I've always wanted to do some statues in the archetypal green that you see for 18th century (ish) statues, but have never found a technique that works.  This one may give me the impetus to give it another shot.

  1. Nice find! Looks like nice verdigris. That's one of my favorite things to paint, just so much fun.

  6. I found a Verdigris craft paint some time ago. It is used by craft painters to colour plastic or resin pieces. Unfortunately I had it for so long that it went off and there was a brown coloured liquid and a solid green mush at the bottom of the pot.

I therefore mixed up a brown wash and a then a dark green acrylic paint with some white added. I think it worked out OK.
