Nerdgasm

Yesterday the Man Cave family ventured forth to attend Supernova, a pop culture expo held at the Melbourne showgrounds.  It was quite a lot of fun, in a really geeky kind of way!

Nobody seemed to question the authenticity of this costume...
We met a few celebrities - in particular the boys from Shaun of the Dead, Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter, Helo from Battlestar Galactica and I got a pic with Charisma Carpenter from Buffy (sweet) and she called the Lad a cutie which totally made his day!  We also attended One Man's Lord of the Rings which was hillarious (basically a comedian/mimic replays the enitre trilogy on stage by himself with no props).  Then of course there were the myriad of fans in costumes - from movies, anime and some which just defied description really.

The Lad caps Greedo - aka Han shot first!

A Viking moment! (with authentic Aviator sunnies)
We also met Rowena Daniels, author of the fantasy series The Chronicles of King Rolen's Kin, who signed our newly purchased books and did a dedication in Book 1 to the Lass which was very nice of her. http://www.corydaniells.com/
Another celebrity; the Lad meets Mighty Thor!
All in all, a fun day out!

  5. I can be the droid she's looking for LOL!

Seriously, might consider getting a Stormtrooper suit and visit cons, seems to be a lot of good looking ladies with nerdy interests around :D

Sounds like a great time as well, these cons are always more fun when you're younger. And it seem to have been quite a few good guests as well!
