OK, it really is finished now

I sanded off the bottom, put some felt in the dice tray and the Lad even found a cool resin fridge magnet at the $2 shop to stick on the Front: its now officially done! Of course another one with a nice timber finish and brass rivets would look great too...

Dice Tower (Almost) Completed

I found time over the weekend to finish painting my dice tower. As you can see, it ended up more as an urban splinter cam style rather than a naval pattern. Nevertheless, it makes a good rolly sound as the dice tumble through!
Just the felt on the dice tray to go now!

Dice Tower...in action!

I was excited to break out the Dice Tower for its first operational use tonight. A little sadly it was for Yahtzee rather than wargaming but it passed the test well!

Dice Tower Update 2

OK its boring, but at least Codex grey is a start (and a shed-load better than my first botched attempt to do a spray can cam). In fact, I've started a WW2 style battleship dazzle cam scheme in greys to jazz it up a little.
Importantly though, its functional so goodbye to scrambling below decks looking for errant dice!

Dice Tower Update

You may recall that sometime ago I planned to build myself a Dice Tower: http://tasmancave.blogspot.com/2009/03/dice-tower.html

Ok, Ok...its been some time. AT-trition demonstrated once again the Lad's skill at scattering dice at critical gaming moments so I was re-energized to build one. And last week I did. A nice little model using scrap bits of plywood etc.

I gave it a quick spray of undercoat this evening (after a disastrous attempt at doing some urban camo - tip: Spray Cans are not airbrushes!). Hopefully I can do something with it in the next few days and get some pics up. However, Owen has seen it and can verify its existence!

Dice Tower

This week Comrade James kindly sent me this link for an Aussie manufacturer of gaming goodies, tempting me to expend yet more of my precious finances.

I particularly like the dice tower - you see, the Lad has a habit of launching polyhedral rockets around the room in his frenzied excitement. The resultant hunt for dice amongst the detritus of the Man cave can stall momentum somewhat...

However, I am going to resist and instead build my own.

I found some plans here:

I'll let you know how it goes...
