SWMBO is currently in London and Paris for work. As if that wasn't enough of a pill to swallow, she sent me this pic from her phone just to rub it in...
I've been in there before you see - DC took me on a tour of the Central London "must-dos" a few years ago when I briefly got to the UK. Then we had a few pints of course!
Great little shop and its been around for years. I used to shop in there regularly when I worked in the city and still visit a couple of times a year if I get the chance. It's definitely part of my gaming heritage and holds a special place in my heart!
ReplyDeleteI used to love their ads in Dragon Magazine, back when it was worth reading (like issue #100-ish).
ReplyDeleteI'd throw Frodo into the fires of Orodruin to have a shop like that near me.
ReplyDeleteYou mean you don't include the "few pints" as part of the list of "must-do"'s?
ReplyDeleteHi Paul and Dangerous Brian,
ReplyDeleteIIRC the pints were definitely "must-do's" - with a very nice roast beef sandwich as well to soak it up!
A great day indeed!
All the best,
DC
Teasing is part of the game :-D
ReplyDeleteNice blog!
Greetings

I've never been there and I only live around 20 miles away!!!
ReplyDeleteMy local. Staff are nice too. Forbidden Planet is just up the road as well, and Modelxone just around the corner from them, and not to forget Foyles and Motorbooks.
ReplyDeleteThat bites!!
ReplyDeleteIndeed so DC!
ReplyDeleteI asked Mrs Man Cave to replace the Orc's Nest mug I bought that day BTW :-)
