As I said the other day, most of my UNA Wing Troopers have had their wings clipped with damage sustained in transit. Has anybody else had this problem?
Sounds like this is a common problem from a note on thewarstore site: "The AT 43 Wing Troopers are great models and beautiful sculpts. However they do suffer from an over ambitious design and have a production flaw. Wing Troopers will very often break where the smoke/fire meets the jet propulsion tank. There is no use in us sending replacements as they will all break at the same place. Fixing this problem is a very simple modeling job and the fix does not detract from the model at all. It involves cleaning the break and re-gluing at a stronger point on the smoke/fire. This is a known flaw, and full instructions for this fix are on the Rackham forum. We hope this will not stop you from ordering the Wing Troopers as they are wonderful models and very useful in the game. However, please understand when you buy the Troopers repair work will be needed. Bring the big boy pants :-)"
This trend seems to extend across much of the AT-43 line - about a 3rd of my walkers came with snapped weapons, feet, etc.. in shipping.
I must have been real lucky. Other then the Wing Troopers and the Baal, my AT-43 has come in without damage. My one Baal was in a real mess. The other only had one weapons busted off.
Yes, most of mine were broken. I gave up after a few attempts to fix them and cut the smoke off and glued the troopers to the bases.
ReplyDeleteI know many think this is a cop out, but I just grew sick of playing around with them.

My only other damage (so far) has been the miscast Shock Trooper, so it seems the UNA guys cop all the damage to my place!
ReplyDelete....so they should...;) Better them than the glorious lads of the Collective!!!
ReplyDeleteJust wait till I show you their sniper skills my friend....
