  2. G'day arrigo,

They are Flames of Wra bases mde by Battlefield Accessories, and have palm levaes etc molded onto them. You get 8 large (4-5 man) and 3 small (2 man) per packets, so 1 packet (which was all the shop originally had) wasnt enough for my full platoon and I didnt want to paint the bases seperately. I'll try to take some pics for you and post them here.

What kind of Vietnam forces are you building?

    cheers!

  4. WOW! Thats quite a collection indeed - I'm envious!

What manufacturer's have you mostly used? Which do you prefer? I was looking at getting some of the Peter Pig vehicles shortly.

Have you got any pics of your forces? Id be more than happy to host them here for you

  5. sorry for the delay...

almost my entire collection is Peter Pig sipplemented by QRF vehicles (their M41 are wonderful like the M125) and some Skytrex/CD stuff. The CD guntrucks are really nice and full of cusotmizable things and their M48 aren't bad (atm my top ten for M48 is: Peter Pig, CD/Skytrex, QRF and last QC) the skytrex M113 Zippo is good. I own some M113 from QC... they aren't bad and I have painted them in ARVN colors for them (I have even converted a slick 113 to one with 106mm RCL... quick work and nice result). T55 are Peter Pig. The air support is mostly die cast from some partwork published by Fabbri and DeAgositni in italy in 1/100 scale).
Need to paint some more stuff and take some good pics.
I am waiting topaint some stuff for customers and to order some Flashpoint stuff... I know that I need at least an USMC platoon.

  6. The info on the vehicles is very useful Arrigo, thanks. Have you got any comparison photos perhaps?

I have been getting into th 1:100 diecast as well, using Italeri (bought from ebay). So far I have 4 Huey Slicks, 1 Navy F4 and a North Vietnamese MiG-17. I really want to find a AH-1 Cobra though.

I am really happy with the USMC Rifle Plt I got and highly recommended the FP figs for their detail

    cheers!
