August Hobby Update

Amongst the solo boardgaming I've been doing of late, this week I dipped my toe back into some tabletop hobbying. After 10 months without doing any, it was good to get the sprue clippers and glue out again.

This time it was building some Eldar Striking Scorpions for Kill Team - only need 8 figs so I figured this was worth some fun, and the painting style is very different to my usual one so it will be good to try some different techniques.

These are the first Eldar figs I have bought since the original metal ones came out in 1992 while I was at University. I bought a few packs - all I could afford at the times but not enough for an army and the figs got lost when I moved house

I even found my original Citadel Colours Striking Scorpion Green - think I've had this since the late 80s? early 90s. Whenever it was. Clearly I'm obligated to use it for its intended purpose!

  1. Is the green still usable? If so, then use it. Let the magic begin... ;-)

    1. It sure is! Somehow these ancient GW paint pots are still the best!

  2. I still have a few of these pots. The paints are fine [some need a little thinner]. It's the pots that are going - the plastic of the lids are breaking up. Perhaps the same has happened to you.

    1. Yes the old plastic is indeed cracking yet is still better than some other GW pots! I just wrap a bit of cling film around the lids to keep the air out.

And yes, they have dehydrated and thickened a bit over the years. The pigment in them is still great though so works well with a bit of thinning down
