Its a relatively small Con, but its less than 45mins away so the boys didn't need much of an excuse to get out there and spend some money.
Note the lads at bottom left already spending their cash |
The very fine gentlemen of War and Peace Games: Ian and John |
The Blood Bowl comp in full swing |
A big Star Wars Armada game in action |
Despite the nifty campaign in progress, Alan looks unconvinced regarding the merits of DBA v3... |
Titan demo game that the kids were all enjoying very much |
Shield decals: "They are evil and the work of the Devil" exclaimed Alan! |
The Shiny
Very nice Late War Germans |
The pin marker 'antenna' on this Puma is rather clever |
Dave and his Demo Gamers had a nice Arnhem game running |
And yes, I thanked Dave for his great indexes for BA1&2, and K47! |
An eye catching Winter Russian army |
Cossacks! |
What a beast - I imagine this will be more effective in BA2 now too |
This LRDG army was rather striking too EDIT: Turns out that this is Patch's LRDG force which starred in the WWPD Tutorial here: http://www.wwpd.net/2016/03/bolt-action-review-painting-guide-long.html |
A rare Finnish Armoured Platoon: what a wonderfully unique force this is |
Some nice terrain
The Finale!
How all good days out with the boys should end |
It would have been rude not to do some stockpiling prior to the next painting challenge! |
A grand day out by the look. A good stash too...
ReplyDeleteLooks like a damn good show!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos and the show looked good too.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Cool looking games and new toys
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great way to spend the day!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a good day and you certainly can't argue with the loot haul!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting mate and especially thank you for the coffee this morning. You're a lifesaver! Nice haul but I'm afraid that mine is much, much larger. They really shouldn't let me in that Bring and Buy hall...John S
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure indeed!
DeleteI am jealous of your haul. Then again, I am also jealous of the gaming room in which you stash it all too :-)
What a splendid day out and a nice haul too.
ReplyDeletehmmmm....might have to get me some of those Norman shield decals from War and peace.
ReplyDeletelooks like lots of fun.
cheers
Spotted you strolling past, Paul but I was to busy playing Infinity. Tell Alan that DBA 3 is fine, well I think so after exactly 2 games haha. Nice loot, pile of shame, must remember this.
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed you Chris - will have to catch up at CanCon!
DeleteSorry to miss you as well Chris!
DeleteLooked to be a terrific day out - you lucky boys! (That LRDG force is gorgeous.)
ReplyDeleteSorry I couldn't make it this time, thanks for sharing the pics!
ReplyDeleteSee you at CanCon mate!
DeleteGreat day out. In some ways MOAB made me a bit sad - looking around the hall the demographic was definitely late middle aged men. As Aled said, you could smell the grognard. I'd love to see them trying to broaden the appeal out more. That being said, there was lots of lovely stuff, and I thought the Bolt Action armies looked terrific. So nice to see how much effort had been put into them. Like Curt, my favourite was the LRDG.
ReplyDeleteLets plan to live way past 100 - that way we aren't middle aged yet :-)
DeleteI have decided to be immortal. I can't drop off the perch until all my miniatures are painted so I'm good for at least another 12,000 years...
DeleteI better do that too, just so you have someone to play against :-)
DeleteLooks like it was a fantastic even.
ReplyDeleteevent* would love to get down to one at some point.
DeleteWow - MOAB looks like a great time - very jealous!
ReplyDeleteSure was, but I don't believe you have a jealous bone in your body.
DeleteTell you what, show up next year and I'll give you free room and board!
