Champions make the Playoffs!

The last round the season was played last night with Odinn's Champions facing off against an old rival from the Rookie season: the Elves of the Woodland Stryders (coached by Rod, a wonderfully encouraging and friendly opponent).

The woodies won the toss and made a passing three turn play, only to have the Norse similarly strike back with some aerial antics, before the Woodies did their magic again to be 2:1 up at half time.  The last turn of the half saw two elves permanently leave the pitch on stretchers though as the Norse block started to take effect.

The second half saw the Norse strike back quickly ad the Elves reply just as fast- could the Norse get a third TD in to tie it up?  Elves were leaving the pitch in droves to the KO box and the Yeti snapped the Treeman's legs (apothed to badly hurt).  Then in a breathtaking move star Norse Runner Gizar Greyclaw snatched up the ball from two elves and ran into to score in the last turn- 3 all draw!!! The Norse inflicted 3 casualties (nil deaths) taking none themselves.  The draw saw the Champions finish up in 2nd place in the Group standings and confirm their spot in the playoffs!!!

Both Runner skilled up, taking Side Step and Catch and Bezerker Sven Forkbeard took Mighty Blow to go with his Block, Frenzy, Jump Up, Pile-On which will be fun to watch in action!  Coach Right Stuff is now considering buying another re-roll with his cash before the first final game

  1. Go Champions!
Woodies are never easy to deal with, even when they're outnumbered.

Just out of curiosity, how do you do the match-ups for the semi-finals?
