Stone Circle WIP 2

Thanks for the advice and comments on Part 1 of this WIP.  I went with just the single symbol, and added some extra highlighting and some yellow ink around the sign to enhance the glowing effect.  In hindsight I overdid it a bit on the base stone (it isn't quite that bright in real life), but that will help in the dim 'thematic lighting' and it certainly looks eerie.  I also added a few blood splatters...

Now to finish up the detailing

  1. That is much better! I like it.

One thing you could do to make it pop a bit more is drybrush around the red/brown edge there a highlight color (a lighter color) for more of a 3d effect. You could hit the edges of the rocks with another lighter grey as well for some depth. You may have done that and the photos may not show everything.

Very nice and a great item to see on the table!

  2. That looks great! I've not tried any thematic lighting effects myself but I've got to say to nailed this.

  3. Turned out good to me, maybe more blood spatter on the stones?

  4. I think that a little over the top is in order for this piece. Better than too understated anyway.

  7. Really a great piece of terrain for Strange Aeons.
Btw, I will be doing a Q&A with Uncle Mike's so if you have any kind of questions about Strange Aeons or other upcoming projects post your question on my blog and I'll make sure to include it in the Q&A document :-)
